Great questions. I wish I had simple answers.

Yes, I find that leaders can flow between more than two styles. Some can do it easily. Most people need practice and focused effort to learn the skill. It can be done, and like every other skill, it takes practice to develop it.

I&#039;m not sure of the context for your second question. It seems to me that you&#039;re asking one of two questions (or maybe both): how to find the time to adjust, or how to adjust to large groups of people when you&#039;re not working specifically with one individual.

The answer to the first question is that it doesn&#039;t take that much time once you develop the skill. So, assuming you&#039;re working with an individual, it takes no more time to adjust than it does to not adjust.

The answer to the second question is more complicated. The simple answer is to assess what you believe to be true for a majority of the audience and then lead with that approach, and also remember that others in the audience will have other styles. So, you&#039;ll want to include a little bit for all four styles if the group is large enough.
